Word Up! The Vocab Show

Vocabulary is not usually a fun subject around our house, especially for my middle schooler. It was one of those dreaded daily tasks that had to be done and always required writing that seemed to go on for days, at least from my son’s point of view. When I told him I wanted him to try a new vocabulary program, I got grunts and groans and an, “okay, whatever.” When I told him it would not require daily writing projects, he perked up. After he watched the first video lesson, he was sold and therefore so was I!

So, what program could possibly get a middle school boy excited about vocabulary?

So excited that he actually asks to do vocabulary!

Just like the banner says, Dwayne Thomas presents the lessons in a zany way. The visually appealing lessons are very entertaining and keep my son engaged!

Latin and Greek vocabulary is such an invaluable skill to learn and I am pleased to see my son expanding his vocabulary without complaint! This program is not just for kids in school. I have learned so much watching these episodes. If you want to expand your vocabulary and understand some Greek and Latin roots, I encourage you to check it out for yourself!

I would say the program is great for middle school on up. Although, the younger crowd seems to enjoy the videos as well.
