We have had much waiting over the last few months, but I am committed to trust in the Lord and wait for His timing. I am holding tight to His Word and His promises because I know He works ALL things together for good! These are some of the verses God has led me to when the waiting gets tough…
Numbers 23:19 God is not man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Psalm 16:8(KJV) I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will NOT be shaken.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 33:20(NIV) We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
Psalm 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 115:1 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.
Psalms 138:3 In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord
Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Romans 8:31b If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 12:12 …rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer…
Romans 15:4 (NIrV) Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. The Scriptures give us strength to go on. They cheer us up and give us hope.
1 John 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Most of these verses come from the New King James Version of the Bible. Most of my Bible study is done with the NKJV, but I do not limit myself to just one version because sometimes God speaks to me through different translations in different ways. I encourage you to pick your favorite translation and use it for most of your studies, but don’t be afraid to read other translations. I have found it very helpful to understand what God is trying to tell me.
